The Avengers!

I don’t even think the studio imagined how powerful the Avengers could be at the box office, but it shattered records previously held by the other more modern day, fantasty superhero, Harry Potter.

We were the first online party store to carry Avengers, even before it was a movie and it looks like we will carrying the Avengers party supplies for a while to come, given the how much everyone seems to love them!

Check out our extensive supply of Avengers items and start planning a great party for your child.  Let them sit with you, go over all that we offer.  The Avenger masks that are in, are truly a must have on the party table.  Put treats under each mask, so when the child lifts it up to put it on, there is a pile a skittles, or M&M’s or goldfish for added excitement.

Don’t forget to end the party with the large Avenger Pinata!  Load it up with our candy and small favors, then let the kids end it with a bang.  Don’t forget, ALL of our party supplies, in every theme are now 30% off, the most on the internet, and we still have our free shipping offer, as we do not make you choose between the discount or free shipping!

Great craft for a Cinderella party.

4 cups of flour

1 cup of salt

1-1/2 cups of hot water

Cookie cutters

Decorations – glitter, paint, beads, etc.

1. This recipe is enough to make quite a lot of cookie cutter shapes, depending on the size of them. You will also need paint in any colors and any decorations, pom poms, glitter, beads, colored pasta beads etc.

2. Use cookie cutters to cut a variety of shapes, like dinos, snowmen, stars, they sell every shape imaginable now, including all animal shapes. Once the child uses their cookie cutters to make their door hanger/ornament. Then use a toothpick to make a hole for hanging, being sure to make the hole a little larger than you will want as they tend to close when baking and you want to be able to put a ribbon through it to loop and tie so they can hang their new dough door hanger/ornament.

3. Using a microwave-safe plate (not paper or cardboard), microwave a plate of their cookie cutter dough shapes for 1 minute each time, rebaking 1 minute each time as you check on them after each minute so see their hardness.

Keep a close eye on the microwave as the ornaments bake. Let dough shapes cool completely before decorating. They can paint them, decorate with glue and decorations that you put out for them, along with music, food and drinks of course, then cut a length of satin ribbon and put through the hole you put at the top of the cookie cutter dough shape, loop and tie off…they have a very cool party favor to take home, and hang in their house.

Hanging Balloons

Hanging Balloons     Ages 1.5 to 3

Here’s a game for the younger birthday crowd that they can actually play together!

You will need balloons, Rope or string, One set of  pot holders for each child, making sure they are kind that your hand can slide into.

Hang balloons at different lengths along a rope or string. Some balloons should be easy to reach and others should hang just high enough so that children have to jump to reach them. Let children bat at the balloons wit their “Bear Paws” or “bear” hands.

Party Favor Buckets

For a fantastic alternative to the traditional treat bag or treat box that you fill yourselves, why not consider our new Party Favor Buckets, that all of our most popular themes now offer.  From Barbie party supplies , to Minnie Mouse party supplies  , to Mickey Mouse party supplies  and many more, these party favor buckets are fantastic, as they add a lot more room for the larger party favors that we offer in all our themes, more candy and treats too.  Wrap in cellophane if you want, tie off with a bow or tie one of our helium balloons to the handle, then let the kids grab a bucket when they are leaving the party.  Save this sturdy plastic 6.5 inch X 4.5 inch bucket to use for Halloween as well, or how about putting a bunch of small party favors in it and let the kids grab them out for themselves.

Check out our new line of party favor containers for these and so much more!

1st Birthday Party Cake Ideas

happy birthday cake and candles
Make an individual small cake for your new one year old.  Just put it
right in front of them, a small, little birthday cake and a rubber spoon…
get out your video camera to capture this moment.  What will
he or she do?  Will they ignore it, not know what to think about
this blob in front of them?  Will they dig in and try it without
giving it a thought?  Our first born had this put in front of her,
held her spoon and completely ignored it.  Wouldn’t even touch
it.  Had to give her a little on the spoon and she honestly was
not interested in this concoction at all.  SO cute!  Making
weird faces until she showed us that she didn’t want it.

Our second born daughter had the same little cake put in
front of her on her 1st birthday, with her little spoon and she
dug right it.  So much so, that within minutes, she started getting
so tired, she slowed down, her eyes started closing, her head
starts to lag and then…she fell asleep in an instant right into her
cake.  Head right in the cake.  Couldn’t believe it!  I am so happy
that we got both of these instances on video because we never
would have guessed either scenarios!

We did this private little cake with only our family around…not at
their first birthday party.  This was our own family celebration that night
and we still watch those 1st birthday cake videos to this day.

Til’ next time!

Party Cake Pops Craze!

cake pop party treats
The newest craze for parties, in addition to cupcakes,
is now Cake Pops and we have to agree that they
are utterly fantastic!  They are so easy to make, decorate
and eat which explains why they are kicking whoopie pies
and birthday cake to the curb.

There are a few really good Cake Pops makers on the market
today.  Actually, they look like doughnut hole makers, and they
vary as far as the technique.  There are pans for your
oven with cake pop holes to fill and bake, or there are electric cake
pop makers that look like a waffle maker and can make 12 to
18 cake pops at the same time.  Either way you choose to make
them, they cook in about 10 minutes, which will make it a great
cooking activity for kids too.  There are books on the market now
on how to decorate them in all different designs and believe us, it
is so easy to get any look or theme you are after.

There are cake pop stands with holes so that you can put a stick
in each hole and easily stand up your cake pops in a circle!  Looks so
festive for your party.  Use cake pops at birthday parties, baby showers,
anniversary parties, even Hollywood themed parties.  The only problem
will be how many can each person have?  How many is too many?  The
greatest thing about the cake pop is that they are about 3 to 4 small bites,
which is actually perfect to alleviate the sweet craving, but they can be
made in so many flavors, fillings, with different toppings, we can’t see that
one will be enough for each person.  Try two each.  Wonderful!

We adore cake pops and once you try them or serve them, we know you
will too!

Hot Party Food Spicey Peanut Sauce

*  1 cup chunky peanut butter
*  1/2 cup very hot water
*  1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
*  1/3 cup lime juice
*  1/4 cup soy sauce
*  2 tablespoons sesame oil
*  2 tablespoons Chinese Chile paste with garlic
*  6 garlic cloves
*  3 scallions, white parts and then 4 inches of the green part  tops, chopped finely
*  1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Combine peanut butter, water, brown sugar, lime juice, soy sauce, sesame oil, and the chile paste in a large mixing bowl.  Whisk all of these ingredients together until all combined.
Then stir in the garlic.   Add the scallions and the cilantro.  Chill very well before serving.
You can make this sauce up to 5 days ahead of when you want to serve it, but put in a tightly sealed container and keep refrigerated.

This spicy peanut sauce goes with so many different foods, which is why we put this on here, because for a great party food, you need a great party side that can be used to make all sorts of amazing dishes…just by drizzling or pouring.  Think of putting this on glass noodles, ziti for kids, grilled chicken bites, homemade bite sized fishcakes or crab cakes, beef tenderloins, grilled zucchini or squash.  Will add spice and some extra flavor to most party foods that you want to serve.

Butterscotch Birthday Brownies

butterscotch brownies
*  1 cup of packed brown sugar
*  5 tablespoons of butter, melt
*  1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
*  1 large egg, slightly beaten
*  9 ounces of all-purpose flour (9 ounces is approx 2 cups)
*  2 1/2 cups of quick cooking oats
*  1/2 teaspoon of salt
*  1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
*  3/4 cup of fat-free sweetened condensed milk
*  1 1/4 cup butterscotch morsels (this is about 8 oz)
*  1/8 teaspoon salt
*  1/2 cup of finely chopped walnutsPreheat the oven to 350 degreeCombine the sugar and the butter in a large bowl, then stir in the
vanilla and the egg.  In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, the
1/2 teaspoon of salt and the baking soda.  Then add the oat mixture
to the sugar mixture.  Stir this with a fork until totally combined (the
mixture will be crumbly).Take a measuring cup and measure in 3 cups of the oat mixture in the
bottom of a 13 x 9 inch baking pan coated with a cooking spray and then
press into the bottom of the pan.  Set this pan with the mixture aside.

In a microwave safe bowl, pour the condensed milk, the butterscotch
morsels and a 1/8 teaspoon of salt then microwave at HIGH for 1 minute
or until butterscotch morsels are melted, stirring this every 20 seconds
so that it does not burn on bottom.  Stir in your walnuts (these are optional)
then scrape the mixture into the pan, spreading evenly over the crust.
Sprinkle evenly with the remaining oat mixture, gently pressing this
into the butterscotch mixture.  Bake this at 350 degrees for 30 minutes (you
want your top to be golden brown).  When done, run a knife around the edge.
Make 36 bars.
