COFFEE FILTER BUTTERFLIES
Take a round, regular store bought coffee filter. Have you child paint with watercolors all over the coffee filter and/or draw beautiful designs with magic markers.

If your child wants to, he or she can add glitter, small pom-poms, or any other small decoration they can think of too. After the filter is dry, pinch it down through the middle, like you're making a bow-tie. Clip a clothespin onto the area that was pinched and then fan out each side of the filter, so that they look like wings.

Now, cut a couple pieces of contruction paper to look like antennae and glue them onto the clothespin. We liked the way these looked if the clothespin was painted too. Not left in its natural state. Now you can clip them all around the house.

You can even attach a little peice of string to the mirror in your car and clip on one that your child made. As long, of course, that it doesn't block your view! Precious cargo on board!!
