This encryption technology makes it impossible for anyone else to intercept your information. This is safer than using your credit card at the gas station. If you don't see the little lock symbol (in the lower left corner of your browser) in it's locked mode, you're not on a secure page. The only pages that need to be secure are the shopping cart pages where you would be providing information. That's why this page and the other catalog pages are not secure and show an unlocked lock. Remember, your credit card protects you, not the merchant against fraud.
