Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease generously an oblong pan, 13 x 91/2 x 2 inches. Beat in a large bowl 4 egg yolks. Then take some small, clean kitchen scissors and cut up into small pieces 1 cup of multi-colored gumdrops. Mix all the dry ingredients into the egg mixture. Stir in the gumdrops and 3/4 cup of chopped walnuts. Beat in a small bowl with an egg beater until stiff, but not dry...4 egg whites. Stir beaten egg whites into the cookie dough. Spread in the prepared pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes. Cool in the pan for 20 minutes, then cut into bars. Makes about 3 dozen bars.

Hint...after spreading the mixture into the pan, place pieces of gumdrops on top of the mixture so that you can see the "jewels" on top of each bar too. What a great colorful treat for a birthday party or for your child's classmates!! So easy to make too.
